The development of Rails version 3 required a great effort to allow for modular and structurally flexibel applications. The code has changed, now we only have to change the 'monolithical mentality'.

This talk is about the benefits and the best practices in having several smaller specialized apps instead of just a big one. During the talk we will see lessons learned at the Python community and how the Django framework influenced the development of Rails 3.
